Hub help

I have a 1978 dana 60 under the front of my 70 f250. I just bought a set of warn hubs for it (#38826). I can,t get the outer lock ring to go in. I am using the original ones from the old hubs. Was I supposed to get new ones with the hubs. They came with new ones for the axle retainer and they fit fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

I dont remember mine coming with new ones, but I do remember the rings being a pain in the butt to put back in...

I'm sure I can drive them in but if I do I don't think the will come back out.
