Timken Hubs

I put off replacing the hub assembly a year now, for whatever reason i looked on amazon to check the pricing on the timken hubs and the price plummeted!!! the lowest price before today was about $190 for one hub, i picked up two hubs for $123 and change with free shipping. i couldn't resist and pulled the trigger. plus i used $60 in credit card points to make me feel even better on the purchase.

just thought i would share in case anyone is looking to get new hubs as well.

Make sure you got right ones...your year should have course threads...later ones had fine threads (for the studs the lug nuts go on.)

Please do report back, there are so many replica parts out there it isn't funny. This seller on amazon is shipping direct, so amazon has never touched the part or verified anything. The seller can't edit the listing to reflect any variations in their parts. Hopefully it's legit, seller certainly has a good rep on amazon.

That is a great price! Too bad I have the fine threads. Those ones are still $178 each.

ranagent mentioned the seller had a good rep but decided to look them up on the internet and came across what i think is their website. they were selling the same timken part# for $85.00 still a better deal to buy on amazon. I also found they have the hubs for the 2003+ with fine threads for $98.00
Front ? 4WD with SRW ? 4-Wheel ABS ? 8 Lugs ? Fine Thread Studs ? 515056 | Detroit Axle
the part # looks like a Timken but it doesn't say Timken in the description.

WRXIN, it may be worth sending them a email to figure it out. $98 is still a real solid price.

Will do, i'll take pics and post them up when it comes. looked up the tracking number and Fedex says it will show up sometime between 29th and 2nd. It only weighs 25lbs for two? I thought those things would weigh more than that.

if things turn sour, I know Amazon will help to make things right. Had trouble in the past and they made seller settle it.

$62 bucks for a hub with course threads vs $178 for fine threads. $116 dollar difference...$232 difference for two hubs. I don't think 16 new lug nuts would cost $232 dollars.

Just don't mix up the lug nuts from front to back (has that ever happened to anyone in the history of shade tree wrenching?) and you'll be golden.

Yeah I was considering that. I also have 2" hub centric wheel spacers, so the lug nuts holding the spacers on would be changed to coarse and the lug nuts holding the wheels on would stay as fine.

Coming from a different direction, how hard would it be to press out the 32 studs on the new and old hubs and repress the old ones?

New studs are $5 to $10 each where I have seen them, so that would add up quick compared to having the old ones swapped I would guess. If you have a press at home, seems like a doable endeavor.

Considering that too. I've had other cars in the past where you did actually have to press the studs out of the old and into the new.

Note: Timken partners with other manufacturers to supply their complete line of quality parts. This product is in a Timken package, however the part may have been manufactured by an independent Timken supplier.
