2 or 3 pump sre usually fine for tie rod ends and ball joints. if you see the boot expanding, that's enough. U joints cant be overgreased, I usually pump untilI see grease exiting the seals a bit.
Here's a tip too, and especially for you guys (and gals) with Aerostars in the Snow Belt areas of the USA and Canada. I bought a pack of red caps for the zerk fittings.
This keeps any possible junk out of the grease fittings. Plus, the main reason, is it allows the grease gun to easily have the grease enter the fitting, one pump is all it takes. I've found in the past, when left uncovered, sometimes fittings get old and tight, where it's a chore to get any grease into the joint. Capping it, eliminates this. Also, if you notice the zerk fitting packed with road tar, and other grime, replace them. It's cheap, easy, and will add years of life to your suspension parts. Ed
do yellow ones work or must i find the red ones?
most new light vehicles manufactured since '95 have none to few zerk fittings,my 96 Aero has 2....on top ball joints
wife's new TL has 0

a penny saved is? Benny and Billy are both wrong

You are risking horrific ball joint failure if you use a yellow cap! How can you sleep at night? It's red caps, or nothing. Go to www.redgreasefittingcaps.com if you don't beleive me! LOL
Nick1108... that is one of many reasons why I never take any of my vehicles to those quick lube joints. Those oil change lackeys are "jack of all oil changes, master of none"/. With changing your oil and oil filter, it's a simple procedure, and most of all you save $ and know the job is done right. I beleive you when you say they "can't reach them". (grease fittings) Bull. It's not like they're laying on their back doing this, for 8 hours a day. I've been greasing cars and trucks since I was 13, and it is not rocket science. Google "JiffyLube Complaints" and read what people had happen to them. I assure you, it's not only them, they all have problems. I'm just glad it's others, and not my cars and pickups they are screwing up/. Ed
How many and where are all of the fitting on a 93 3.0
Thanks
Doug
There will be between four and eight fittings on your van.
It came out of the factory with four. One each on the upper and lower ball joints on both sides.
The other places you may find them (if they are not the original parts) are the outer tie rod ends (one each side), and the prop shaft - one each in the front and rear universal joints, in the spiders.
Note that not all aftermarket tie rod ends and universal joints are equipped with grease fittings.
If you ever need to replace these parts get the greasable ones, and definitely avoid the OEM type outer tie rod ends which had no grease - just rubber inserts surrounding the ball.
