2004 Explorer Transmission Issues

I have a 2004 Explorer with 60,000 miles. The transmission has delayed engagement from reverse to drive, when slowing down for a red light, there is a big clunk, and when trying to back out of a parking place, you can not cut the wheels at all or it will bind and clunk.

Outside of a new transmission, is there a fix? I had a selinoid and fluid replaced at 25,000 miles and it worked perfect for a while. But now, it is back to clunking around.

Thanks,

Chuck

sounds like your T/C is engaging, clean the Hale sensors.

Sorry...I don't know much about 'hale sensors'. Where are they and how do I clean them?
Thanks!

the Hale sensors are in the back of the T/C, each are held in by a 10mm bolt and have 2 wires coming out of them, they are plastic cased so be carefull
