Autolight BF-42 plugs???
I use Bosch platnums in all my vehicles. I used to use Champion truck plugs. I had put a new set of Champions in my 72 302 once and my grandpa talked me into putting a new set of Bosch plantnums in and see if I noticed a differnce. It was like driving a different truck. I have stood buy them for 8 years and won't use anything else. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Jeremy, what diferences did you see? Not doubting you but I just have a hard time believing that the plugs could make that much difference, thanks.

Autolight BF-42 plugs???
When you go from Champion to Bosch, it makes a major difference- like burning gas after trying to run your truck on lemon juice.
I used to run Bosch but went back to Autolite. I needed a thin-walled plug socket in order to get the Bosch plugs tight as the depth of the nut area was shallower on the Bosch. The valley the plug sits in would catch my socket and make it feel like I was getting the plugs tight, but they weren't. The socket also had a tendancy to slip off because of the shorter nut area.
The Autolites have a large (taller) nut area so it was a lot easier for me to install. I noticed no performance differences between the Bosch and Autolite platinums. They are both good plugs.

Ok, how about; what does the platinum do for the plugs? Curious minds want to know.

It makes the plug last longer. There is less erosion so it keeps its gap better and longer.
Some claim there are performance increases with a platinum plug. All I know is that my truck runs good with Autolite platinums so I'm sticking with them.
