There is a hood on Ebay thats listed as a 1961-62-63-64-65-66 Ford Truck Hood. I emailed the seller this morning to confirm that it's for a 64, but I don't think it is.
What does everyone else think?
Looks like it may be for a '73 - '79, but definitely not for a '61 - '66.
Nor is it for a '67 - '72.
Front edge gives it away:
'61 - '66 has a rounded front.
'67 - '72 has a reverse angle in the front, slanting down and to the rear under the front lip.
'73 - '79 has a an angular front, slanting forward.

Hey I get a cookie! I've contacted ebay sellers about items like this that were misidentified and have gotten the whole gamut of responses. Some have said thanks and made a change and some have invited me to do things I'd not care to do. I only have contacted sellers so that some unsuspecting buyer not get something he can't use. Caveat emptor-let the buyer beware.
Yeah BP you get credit for seeing it as a 73-9 style. I apologize! I admit you got everybody into the correct decade before the rest of us got here.
Tom however recognizes it as only 78-9 because of FORD letters on hood. He knows because thru 77 FORD letters were in top of the grille between the signal/ park lamps.
If it had a center top [gun sught] ornament & cable release it'd have been a 78-79 Explorer hood. . . .
Unless the eBay seller seems unsure about what the item is, I don't give unsolicited advice either. I once let the seller of a '63 Fairlane know that there was no such thing as the 260 cubic inch 6 cylinder he claimed was in his car and he let me know in no uncertain terms that I didn't know what I was talking about.
It could be my memory playing tricks on me, but when that hood appeared on my E-bay search list (yep, I watch too) the picture caveat was not there.
Methinks it was added later - but I could be wrong, I have been wrong before you know!
There is no question the hood in the picture will only fit '73 - '79 bodies.
Without the correct picture, there isn't any way to tell what he has for sale!
