Maximum safe EGT temps PSD 6.0?

Just spent the weekend installing the following on my '06 F350 CC LB PSD.

1) Banks 5" Monster Exhaust turbo back system. (single)
2) AFE Stage II Pro Guard filtration system
3) Edge Platinum Attitude Engine Controller.
4) Disabled EGR valve.


So, anyone have a suggestion on what a safe max EGT would be?
I have seen numbers anywhere from 1200-1375 deg.

The truck pulls right through 1350 deg. with no problem, and then the edge starts to back down fuel in order to keep EGT temps in line.

I too have the edge programmer, and from what I have read, 1250 is the limit. Banks has a good Qand A page on the subject. From what I have read, at around 1300'F the turbo fins start to glow and flex, which at the rpms it turns at flexing is not good.

I have been 1450 for quite a while with the Edge. The max is adjustable on the box.

I have my pyro mounted pre-turbo on the exhaust manifold. Not sure if that makes much difference vs. post-turbo, but I can hit 1250 with no problem. Right now I have my defuel set at 1350. Havent driven it hard enough to hit that yet. I also have not towed my trailer yet since installing the Bully Dog Power Pup with the Outlook Monitor.

Preturbo is where my readings are taken. You can pass 1450 easily if not careful. I personally cant imagine how you set the Edge on max and not see the max temp of whatever you have set. Mine would defuel often because of constant throttle mashing (bending the floorboard). It did cost me 2 transmissions so far, though I dont think it was only my driving style as the 5R110 is a POS. I even suspect that my truck was a buyback. It had 18000 miles at 1 yr old and 5 visits to the dealer though no major work was done according to Carfax. Why 5 visits?

My number is 1300. I don't turn my juice past stock though I would like to keep my truck I tow a lot and never see 11 1200 if so only for a second
