Flowtech Headers

Anyone ever used Flowtechs on thier FE? I found some on Craiglist, brand new, for $60. He had a '73 high-boy, sold it, and forgot about his headers he was going to put on it. I have a '75 F250, so should be pretty simple. He said the passanger side is 2pc.

Any thoughts?

I have a set and they work fine, never used a manifold gasket yet. The only leak I have had was at the collecter flange on the passenger side. They were 100 bucks and I have been useing them since 98 so there fine by me.

The guy says that the 2 pc unit on the passenger side hasn't even been cut yet. (Hence yet to be installed.) He says you cut to get it around the starter.

Which brings up another question for ya Egoman....... You ever had any starter troubles with those headers? You got a heat shield or headers wrapped?

Thanks for your time,
Mike

Not sure what the cutting is all about..... Then again I installed mine while the fenders and inner fenders were off the truck so it was an effortless install. I never had a problem with them, they actually made it easier to change my start. No more 1/4 turns on the tiny goose neck any more. Now I can get a socket and a big extention on the top bolt. I dont have to take it loose either starter slides out to the front and I have no heat shield or wraps. Same starter since 98-99.

I am currently running flowtechs on my 75 f250 4x4 crewcab. The p/s header is two piece and it has done nothing but leak. It leaks at the collector where the front 2 tubes slide in and it leaks at 1 tube where exits the flange. I have tried everthing I could think of to stop the leak, but I have removed the headers and am in the process of welding up the 2 piece back into a one piece. It will mean I will have to pull the right side engine mount tower to but it back in, but it should stop the constant leak I've been fighting since it was installed. The d/s header has worked very well, no problems with it.

Thats so weird...Ive never seen a two piece header, maybe its only on the four wheel drives. Im sure it was a fluke but I have had no problems with them yet, I dont run a manifold gasket and I only replace the collector like once a year maybe less.. The two piece thing sounds like it sucks.
