Spark Plug Wires

I want to get a good set of spark plug wires for my 292. But I dont want to get the standard 7mm "do it yourself" wires. I was thinking more on the lines of a good 8mm or even a 9mm set, but haven't found a place that sells a set for the "Y Blocks"? Is there a set that maybe goes on a different engine that will fit the Y Block?? Please help as I am tired of the 7mm DIY'rs that almost always have or end up with a miss due to cutting and fitting wires!

I don't know of any pre-made sets specifically for the Y in 8 or 9mm, but if I recall correctly, 286Merc says premade sets for the 460 will fit, routing them over the rocker covers & using some care with extra wire separators & looms to keep the wires off the nice, hot, exhaust manifolds. You'd want a set listed for the early 460s so the cap boots will fit your early style point dizzy cap, not the sets made for the later 460s with the Duraspark.

The original Y routing sucks, to put it mildly.

For custom length trim-to-fit sets I like MSD or Taylor wires in 8mm & have had good luck with them.
