Truck has superchips "tow mode" only, straight pipe, cat delete, AFI intake, and outlook monitor.
Question;
While towing race trailer (17500 lbs.) in tow safe, and tow mode, on flat ground @ 75-80mph boost ranges 25-28psi.
while pulling uphill, or accelerating boost raises into 30's and goes to 38psi. At this point the turbo "dumps" psi, gauge goes to "0" and back to 20 something in less than a second. IF I use cruise control, the truck never "dumps", (I guess the computer is better at regulating than my foot)
Without trailer if you floor the accelerator at @75mph, the gauge reaches 35 and 36 psi, but never defuels. Is the monitor at fault? Is it set to defuel?
First of all congradulations on getting a stand alone Outlook monitior to work. We have tried a few and never got one to work. We wont even sell you one without a Bullydog Power Module. Second of all, I didnt think the Outlook Monitor would Defuel unless you where using one of there modules (dyno dominator, rapid power). I could be wrong like I said we havent had very good luck with the Outlook. We have sold a bunch with the modules and never had one returned.
My 2005 did the exact thing, it was overboosting, the gauge would almost hit 40 and then to 0, when I let off it would come back on. I assume the boost gauge acts like the speedo, when using a speed-delimiter after you max out the gauge it goes to 0mph until you go below 100mph again. Sounds like the vanes in the turbo are sticking closed causing an over-boost situation. I would take it in. I was taking mine in for the same problem along with an oil leak and reflash, but ended up trading it in, so I can't confirm it was the turbo, but being my 3rd 6.0, I say it was. Good luck.
pulled the same load 500 miles today with an avg. of 82mph. truck set on stock mode, not programmed. boost never ent above 33-34psi, ususally mid 20's.
