Forget the bully dog and sct. Look around here and you will see that the best chip for our 7.3 is DP-TUNER. Save yourself the anguish of having to do this again, just do the DP.

Ditto on the DP. And do yourself a favor. Don't be like me and not get the 140 extreme just to save the $45.00. I've been kicking myself ever since I got it, and even more after I set my buddy up with the DP and he got the 140. Well worth the money. If you're like my buddy, you might have other local guys around you that will tell you that the Bully Dog and such are just as good or better. Show them the way by being the first on your block with a DP. Make the other boys shed a tear.

Batteries

I don't know if this $.02 that I am going to throw out would officially be considered a 'mod', but I'll throw it out there as a suggestion, at least.

When the batteries in your truck need replaced, seriously consider trying to find same-power top-terminal batteries that have a carry handle or strap that make them easy to remove from/install in the truck.

I have beaten my hands to pieces trying to pick the Motorcraft ones up by hand, and have lost a decent mount of blood from scraping sharp edges of fenders, etc.

Seems like most everything I do underhood ends up with one or both battereies having to be removed.

anyhow, just though I'd throw it out there...............

How bout a E99 sticky; the turbo is smaller on the compressor side, the stock wheel is the same as the WW, the turbo pedestal is different, the up pipes are different, the spider is smaller and already has the AIH delete, the HPOP is 15* vs 17*, the injectors are smaller 120cc I think, the front rotors are 99mm vs 101mm, the fuel bowl cover is different and has a plastic mounting bracket, there is no foil to delete on the IC pipe, E99 through the SES light very easliy on a chipped truck (*15 HPOP)

Convert turbo=$ if you don't plan on big hp go with the Dominator 66
Beans Diesel

I am undecided on turbo upgrade H2E+bigger injectors+Pulse HPOP=big $$$

With the H2E the upgrade kinda comes with the kit (new & different up pipes, pedestal, spider)

Or Dominator 66 & 17* HPOP and Stock 530 hybrids. Less $

D66 is a direct bolt on. Motified stocker to flow more air.

Early 99 has a wicked wheel in it from the factory.

The early99 has 120cc(AB code) injectors and the late99-03 has 140cc(AD code) injectors.

The early99 has 2" intake runners. The late99-03 has 3" intake runners.

The early99 has a 15* swash plate HPOP. The late99-03 has a 17* swash plate HPOP.

The early99 has one glow plug relay. The late99-03 has one glow plug relay and one air intake heater relay side by side. Both relays are on the passenger side valve cover toward the front of the truck.

The early99 has a totally different air filter that is not inter changeable with the late99-03. But you can put the late99 air cleaner assembly in the early99 truck. The only three aftermarket air filters that work on the early99 are the AFE stage 2, the AIS and the KWIKK 6637.

The early99 track rod has smaller mounting bolts than the late99-03.

The early99 has shallower rotors than the late99-03.

The early99 has shorter hub-bearings than the late99-03.

The early99 front axle U bolts are square where they go over the spring pack. The late99 U bolts are round.

The early99 has a different pitman arm than the late99-03.

The early99 does not have the AIH like the late99-03.

The early99 does not have the automatic transmission fluid cooler in the radiator.

The early99 has no indicator light showing that "cruise" is on. Late99-03 has a cruise light that will come on when you set the cruise control. The early99 truck has the light in the dash already. A newer PCM(Yes it will plug in and will run better too) must be used to make the cruise light illuminate. It is a green light on the right side edge, half way up.

every thing that is painted orange (on the left) are 99.5-03...non painted (on the right)is early 99

the turbo on the left is a 99.5-03 turbo.it has the wicked wheel in it..

these are early 99 plenums. the 99.5-03 plenums are wider, taller and have a 3" hole for the boots..early 99 are 2"

best pic i have for a 99.5-03 plenums... sorry
