Coming out the mountains the past weekend, I was coming around the curves a
little hot and the front end started shaking like the tire was going to run off.
It was after 6 pm on a sunday in the arkansa mountain so i slowed it down and cruised home with only an occassional shaking. Took it to sears for evaluation
and they found nothing. What do i need to check.
It shakes pretty hard when it comes in then goes away.
Probably not a bearing because i got 23 mpg , 313 miles out of 13.05 gals,
avg about 70-75 mpg.
I'd check all the steering joints - I had to put $500 worth of steering parts (and labor) on mine (at 40,000 miles ) for it to pass inspection this year. I had assumed that it was my warped rotors causing all the wobble... it wasn't.
check the track bar (the bar fromt he frame to the passenger side of axle)very closely. if there is any movement in the bushings replace it. also check tierods and ball joints and wheel torque
I have the wobble as well. As soon as I hit 40mph it starts. Usually it's much worse coming down a hill or curved hill at that speed. Sometimes it's so bad I just close my eyes and hope for the best. It does not happen under or over 40. That is the magic number I guess. I don't even know where to begin because people have had different solutions for the same issue. Any suggestions where to start with mine?

check your ball joints, mine started getting some front end shake, and I tried moving them like you normally check ball joints and they didn't budge, 2 weeks later the left upper joint went totally out and almost put me in the ditch at 60mph.
