I am having a problem with my '96 F-250 PS. When I shift into a gear and try to accelerate the engine bogs down for approximately 2 seconds then begins to accelerate. Other PS that I have driven do not do that. I was wondering if anyone might know what the problem is?
Check Engine Light. Have you done any mods lately? Last service? Could be a problem with the accelerator pedal. There is no cable. It works with a sending unit. I just had to replace mine. Are you using diesel kleen or anything like it?
I have put an edge evolution on recently, but it did this before I ever put it on. I service it regularly and I don't use diesel kleen. The CEL is not on. This problem doesn't occur all the time, it occurs probable 70% of the time.
what are the temps outside? does it ever do it after the truck is warmed up? does the exhaust sound any different. could be the exhaust backpressure valve closing then opening. if its cold out could be normal operation. it closes to help warm the engine but when you accelerate its commanded open but there could some lag to it.
