crossmember missing bolts???

crossmember missing bolts???
I was crawling around under my truck last night, and noticed something weird. It looks like the crossmember that the radius arms bolt into is missing the 3 bolts across the top - where it look like it should bolt into the top of the frame rail. Was that an option that year, or was it standard?

Hi Pat,
Me again.
Let see if I have the right cross member, the one nearest the engine connected to the inside of each frame rail at the perches for the radius arms. Not the one supporting the trans.
On most trucks this crossmember has four big rivets on each side attatching it to the frame and radius arm perch. Perhaps at one time someone removed it for something and reinstalled using some bolts.
I have had mine out, and had real fun time getting the rivets out.
Now it's a snap with high grade bolts installed.
