I purchased some upholestry for my 67 ford f-100 but the colors are not right. I am thinking about buying some vinyl paint with the exact color and painting the seats. Will the vinyl paint hold? I have done this with the dash board and armrests and the vinyl accepts the vinyl paint great. But on a seat where I am using it every day...any thoughts? thanks
I have used it in the past. The rubbing of your body against the seat over time is going to wear thru. I have seen seats where it has rubbed thru to the original color. I have used various brands & some may be better than other.I hope this helps.
You might try the Bodywork forum, The paint people hang out down there. I have seen vehicles where the seats were painted and they looked real wierd after a while. You may also want to look in a junkyard for seats that are the right color. Check the 1967-1972 Ford trucks forum for fitment info.
Thanks for the advice.....the way I figure it..I can also repaint it again...the vinyl paint is meant for vinyl and it may wear away slowly but I'm not too sure about peeling away like paint though...
