Is your 66 a F250? F250 & F100 are different, but will bolt up exchange.
You might as well leave the tranny, it will not bolt up to the FE or I6 that your 66 has. It would bolt up to a 460 though.
i bought a 77 F250 camper special 2wd with a 400m cause it has a C6 with 8,000 miles on it,and I was hoping to use the front disc brakes on my 66 twin I beam but it's a 8 lug maybe I should have pulled the hub caps.Is there any other interchangable parts from the 77 3/4 ton 2wd to my 66 twin i beam?o ya will the radiator bolt in my lil 66
If you open the FTE "article/spec" catagory there is an article on 'Front Drum to Disc Brake Conv...'. The following web site may also be helpfull: http://www.mongrelmotorsports.homest...f100discs.html. And although have not browse this website lately, could be helpfull. www.mpbrakes.com
Good luck,
dave

Big66, Your truck either came with a 352 FE or a I6. That tranny will not bolt to either. The power steering gear and colum will fit, yes the rad. should work.
The I-beams will bolt up but you will have to deal with the 8 lugs.
If I remember right...I got the I-beams from a '73 model and they bolted right in. The biggest problem we had was with the proportioning valve and the brake light switch.
But that was over 10 years ago and my memory is bad.
I have four ford trucks in my drive way my 66 F-100,61 ford parts truck,77 f-250 camper special and a 76 ford high boy 4x4,just have alot of questions sorry I would like to stay with the five lug and not the 8 thanks Chad
K, Need to ask as the questions are, well for lack of a better work hogepoge.
How about a new post that details your thoughts for a build? What you expect out of the truck.
Lots of things interchange but just going out and grabbing trucks for parts will not work....
With you having a 66 F100, and i am assuming it is a 2 wheel drive here the only parts that will directly interchange between your 66 and the parts 61 is doors and the rear axle and a few interior pieces. Not much logic in purchasing it, see my point.
The F250 can be a donor to the 66 but will have all heavy duty suspension and ALL F250s are eight lug, just like chevrolet C20s and equal 3/4 ton Dodges
parts you will be able to use will be the power steering box and collum. thats about it... the rear will be a DANA 60 and eight lug also.
The 4x4 will accept the cab and front end from the 66.
I realize what your saying I,m not buying every old ford I see.I bought the 61 because it has a good running 292/4 speed and it goes down the road and of course it was $50.00!the vintage pacific northwest plates on it are worth what I paid for the truck.I bought the 77 camper special for $200.00 for the rebuilt C6 and the bigger radiator for the auto trans and it came with a B+M rachet shifter. And as for the 76 High boy I,ve gotton what I need off of it (429CJ) so there is a little method to my madness thanks Chad
Sorry I have got the FORD bug now and I dont think it's cureable
