They sell a bed to frame insulator kit like LEckart said. The kit contains several spacers that seem to be between a 1/16 to approx 1/8 thick. In fact I used the thin at the front and the thick at the rear to get mine to look somewhat level.
Thanks for all your reply's, I guess I need to put a running board on and see if it lines up with the bed and rear fender, then stand back and see how it looks. I guess I'm to nit-picky, I've been told " this is an old truck, not the space shuttle"...LOL
When I removed mine, it looked like several pieces of bicycle inner tube cut up and stacked between the frame. I removed it and cut some square pieces of neoprene rubber, punched a hole for the bolt and put that in. I believe the rubber is more for reducing friction and squeeks, rather than leveling the bed.
I mad a set of insulators for my truck bed from some 3/16" reinforced rubber. I found a rubber dealer in the yellow pages, told them what i needed. They had a huge selection of thicknesses and compositions and gave me the small piece I needed (it was a drop from a different sale) I bought the guys in the shop cokes adn went on my way. I cut the rubber to size with a utility knife and punched the holes in it with a gasket punch.
Brewster is right. You add rubber until it sits level to the frame. Also, the cross members in the middle have a beveled notch on them that needs to be situated correctly to the frame. The high sides of the notchs face toward the axle as I remember. Harbor Freight has a degree tool on sale for $2.99. It would help determine if the bed is the same tilt as the frame. Jag
