Door Latch Blues

The gears on my door latches are incredibly loose. When I shut my doors, I have to make sure that the gear is turned just right so it will latch.
Is there a way to solve this problem without replacing the entire latches? ($70 bucks a pop!)

Until then, I'll continue slamming and re-slamming

Hmmm...sounds like what mine did before I replaced the weatherstripping. What condition is yours in?

I ''repaired'' some teeth once with some liquid steel, it worked but it wasn't my truck soI don't know how long it lasted, it didn't come back so I can only guess it was ok

well, the problem I'm having is inside the mechanism in the door itself. The gear sticking out is loose and has a lot slop in it... Is there some kind of Kit, or new gear shaft I can buy for it? G
