I'd look for a 1 ton axle for the proper lug nut pattern.

Dana 44

I'm sure you're talking about the front axle. The F-100 4 x 4 would have had a Dana 44 front axle, with a 9" Ford rear axle, with 5 x 5.5" bolt pattern. The F-250 would have had a Dana 60/61 rear full floating rear axle with 8 lugs, and a Dana 44 front axle with 8 lugs. The 44 is strong enough for a part time front axle, even on an F350. In this case you probably don't have enough power to hurt it (it is divided front and rear anyway) and it has the heavy duty wheel bearings and suspension put on the F-250 for the load.

You just want to stay away from half-ton stuff for an F-100 as it is too light and won't fit the wheels or the suspension/steering.
