I have a 2005 FX4 SCAB. (Bought new in Jan 06) Has any one bought the molded Ford mudflaps for this truck from Ford? Or should I just buy from Autozone ? My running boards get covered with mud all the time.
I bought the molded mud flaps and I have the ford tube style steps. I didn't like the black color of the flaps since my truck is a Torch Red and Arizona Beige two tone paint and there's very little black on the truck. So I primed them and painted them Arizona Beige to match the rest of the truck.
I have the factory mudflaps and I had it for over a year. Been off roading a couple of times and they still look brand new. Plus, you get a nice Ford logo on the rear flaps as well. I would stick with factory ones!

Did you just put them on the rear? Ford says they are N/A for vehicles with O.E. Running Boards.
I have the 06 Screw with running boards, I bought the molded ones that Ford sells, same reason boards get dirty all the time. I had to cut a small notch out of them, maybe 2" to fit flush against the fender, the only problem with this was you could slightly see the end of the running board and since mine is the KR and the boards are tan this was a problem, I could have just painted the end of the board but didn't want it to look cheesie. To correct I bought a pair of the flat ones. matched the holes and set them right inside the molded ones so you can't see anything but a flush molded guard itself. I did this because I wanted molded all the way around on all 4 wheels and I am a bit on the picky side or just nuts.
