I purchased Husky flaps from Summit for $63. including their handling charge. They appear and fit like the factory ones except they lack the Ford logo. There are already enough Ford logos on the truck. Fronts were very easy to install and the rears I needed to remove the rear wheels. If you have a 90 degree drill you may not need to remove the rears. My truck has the black factory tubes and there are no clearance or fitting issues.
At least for Super Duty and Excursion...drilling was involved. And in the Excursion case...the Ford ones did not fit. And..they didn;t even make the nioce molded ones for the rear of an 05.
Brucefx4 what did you have to drill. i thought the ford ones did not require drilling
I have a FX4 with the factory baby flares and could not get the factory pins out in a reusable state, so after the first feeble attempt I went with screws. I added couple more than the flaps were drilled for as I felt a little more support was needed on the rear fender.
So, will the factory splash guards (4x2 no flare) fit with the full length ABS running boards? How much trimming would you have to do (if any) and does it affect the strength of the splash guard?
Does anyone have a pic of this specific set-up???
I hate to shell out $72 for the set of splash guards, only to find out I can't use the front ones (I hate the fact that I'm always pumping road grime onto the boards from the front tires and having them look dirty after the smallest little shower).

I second the Husky's, and they make ones for the front which will accomodate the ABS running boards. The drilling is not that bad. I put some silicone ATB over the screw ends (not the heads) when I was finished. I think if you have the wheel lips, you are going to have to drill anyway.

I have a 2005 FX4 SCAB. (Bought new in Jan 06) Has any one bought the molded Ford mudflaps for this truck from Ford? Or should I just buy from Autozone ? My running boards get covered with mud all the time.
I had a set of Ford molded mudflaps on my 04 FX4 for about 6 months until I had to take them off when i installed a set of Bushwacker flares. They are in great condition.
If you want them I'll let them go for a good price.
