looking at a 68 f100

Hey all, I 'm looking at what I believe is a 68 with three speed. lwb truck. I was wondering if it's a 352 or 390 motor. I'll have to repost the vin later on, I forgot it at work.
I was trying to search it out before asking, just couldn't find it. I did read somewhere that 352's weren't in them in 68. Is that right? IF so it might be a 360, right.
Also, what's the going rate on a beat up slightly rusty truck. It runs and idles decent, needs a little work, don't they all. Thanks Mike

I think 67 was the last year for the 352. You probably have a 360 although someone along the way may have changed it out to a 390. You really have to measure the stroke to tell the difference.

Re value, it varies greatly by location. Around here (Arizona) they don't go much below $1,500, even in poor shape - probably because we don't have rust issues as a rule. I would think you are looking at $600-$800 but that's just a guess. Good luck and let us know.

Okay, here's a partial vin or what I could get from it. I might get morte later after I look at it. Maybe a few pics too -

I originally thought it was a 66, because it had a sticker that said it conforms to 1966 standards, not sure of what the rest of it said tho - Thanks Mike

Thanks, my buddy was thinking - hoping it was a 390 - for more asking money,
That helps me out, I think that's still in the FE family is that correct.
Been a while since I've looked at the blue oval.

thanks guy's, a little to rainy for pics. How much are 360's really worth? My buddy thinks it worth 600 for the motor alone. It runs, but not that great. It's a good fixer.
I also think it's a68, it has a rear side marker or reflector and from I can tell the D in the vin indicates 68, if I'm correct. Thanks Mike

the "d" in the vin is the assembly plant....d is Dallas, TX....the C means it was made between Aug of 67 and March of 68...

68 had side reflector on the bottom rear corners of the bed and i think the 70 and up had marker lights at the end of where the upper crome would stop on the bedside
