just received my sway bar from JCW, and it has a tubular end link that drops down from the frame. Most discussions/pics here show a set of end link plates that bolt together.
Does anybody know what gives? Did I get an old design?...new design?
I haven't had a chance to fit it up to the vehicle to see if the tubular end link is the correct length.
My X is a 4x4, but assume that doesn't matter since the Hellwig site shows the same models number (7643) for 4x2 and 4x4.
Thanks in advance for any info.
I think you are fine. You need to put the bushings in place first. Use a little grease and a piece of wood and a mallet. Those get put in the frame with the big bolts. Then you will have that screw section hanging down. Slip the metal sleeve on it and hold it there with a washer and a bushing. Insert the screw end thru the sway bar followed by another bushing and washer and a nut.
Thanks for the info. I did crawl under the X just now and held the link up to the frame. It appears that it is the correct length to get the sway bar level to the ground.
