just recently bought a 93 bronco w 302. i was having issues with overdrive. it felt like it was slipping (mainly on inclines). then i thought maybe it was because i was running low oct fuel. i started using high octane and it seems to have eased the slip somewhat. unfortunatly the truck seems to lack power in overdrive still. just wondering if this year model had any tranny issues or what. oh by the way i have 114K on the truck. also the truck was well taken care of by the orig owner thanks
Check for the last time the fuel filter was changed. Had aproblem like what you are having on my Areostar and after spending $350 working on the trans it turned out to be a pluged fuel filter.
thats what i have been hearing. i will try the fuel filter. i was also told by a local mechanic who has a 95 w/302 that he has to replace the fuel filter every year. anybody else have to do the same. anyway.. i will post what i find out. thanks
What type of trans do you have? I just had to replace the clutch in my standard trans. It was slipping also ,started on the inclines then progressed to when I push the gas a little more to go around someone.

Yes, after the problem I had with mine, I change filters in all my rigs every spring.
93 bronco w/302. dont know what tranny it has. everything stock
Its like 99% sure that you have a E4OD trans.
I have one question for you.....well two.......what size tires are on the truck, and when was the last time it had a full major tune-up????
Another thing or two......keep reading this forum.....use the search......get yourself a Haynes manual......get yourself a Ford repair CD.....keep reading. the Info sticker in the door jam will give you a bunch of info, like what trans it has, gear ratio, GVW.....and the like, check it out.....Oh did I say to keep reading!
fixed the issue. talked to local mechanic and his quote was "ford and transmissions dont go together". although that was a little discouraging he gave me a tube of ''shutter stop'' additive. added it to the tranny fluid and it quieted the torque converter and my truck regained power in overdrive. he said it was better than any Lucas tranny additive. he used it on his 95 150. $15 bucks for a small tube, but it worked great. kinda unbelievable!
