Has anyone had a problem with a mysterious roof leak at the left rear portion of the passenger compartment? I have a 2001 that leaks only occasionally. I didn't want to start tearing out the headliner before I had a rough idea of what needed to be done.
yeah rear lift-gate is the only other place i could think of then, unless you've got the rear windows that pop open (though i doubt that would cause a look from the roof).
I used to have a 99 Navigator that had a leak in the rear and it was the quarter glass seal. I had to take it out and put a new ribbon seal on it. IT was about 10.00 for the the new seal, I used a 3/8 and rolled to make it thinner,it comes in a roll at a body shop supply store. It was a fairly big job to take out and re do. It was leaking on the top of the quarter glass. To find the leak, I took off the interior trim panels and got inside with a flashlight while someone sprayed it with a pressure washer. It was very obvoius where the leak was. Hope this helps
mtcox, i really don't know if the lift gates are sources of common leak problems - my trucks have been nice and dry (we somehow make it through all this southern cali rain!). i was just suggesting some possibilities. hope you get 'er fixed,

I had the same problem with my 2001. At first, I thought it was the sunroof. After making many adjustments to the sunroof with no change, I tracked it to the roof rack. I had to remove the roof rack and re-seal.
I forgot in my earleir post that I had a roof leak in a 98 navigator that i had fixed. It was a roll over. Turns out the shop did no tighten all the roof rack bolts all the way and water just dripped in in one of the holes. I took each one out and put a little squirt of silicone in each hole before i put the little torx bolts back in. No more leaks.
i've noticed after looking on mine that the rear washer nozzle just turn freely. when i turned it, it created a small opening but when put back in regular position. I myself have not had any leak troubles but maybe yours is cocked one way and maybe a simple turn could stop your leak. save you some money troubleshooting the problem maybe.
