Which do you prefer?

I'm curious on what you guys prefer? Stainless steel bumpers vs. chrome bumpers? and amber blinker lens vs. the clear ones?

Stainless when you can get it. I don't like having maintain anymore than I have to.

As for the lens, I like clear

Where do I go to vote for painted bumpers, as God and Henry created them? And what if I don't have turn signals?

I would think chrome would work fine for you in CA. Stainless definitely better in the midwest. Plus chrome is much cheaper.

I like the clear blinker lenses better.

Chrome, amber...unless you're not running bumpers and plan on changing the turn lights (like me).

Good thread.

I prefer clear lights. I also prefer Chrome bumpers aesthetically, but I don't know how well they do here in Florida.. What do you guys think? Chrome OK in FL?

PAINTED BUMPERS (better looking & easier to maintain) w/ AMBER LENSES (better looking & more readily seen) .

I had a 68 with chrome bumpers. The prev owner over tightened the bumper bolts on one and cracked the clear chrome protective layer. Rain water got underheth and the nickel flacked off. So, for my money, I'll always go with stainless if available. They are more expensive, but I think it was only $30-40 each. SS is permanant. Chrome is temporary. Sooner or later it will need to be redone. And, unless you have an orange truck, I vote for clear lenses. Good luck, Jag

S/S if polished correctly, and clear lense.
