Well before I bought mine I was warned on all the issues they had .....I seemed to get alot of hassle but not much detail on what the problems really where ...lol....I guess the TFI and the ticking can be a bit annoying fuel tank gauge etc, but thats a way of life with a BII. I find them not to bad if ya research the issues they have and work hard on preventing the problems as best you can. I really hated '''but not as bad ''''got use to them a bit ....lol.... The big back windows are still the thing I hate the most about them. Why not smaller ones like a older Bronco ....
I don't get to much grief on my BII, Actually far from that i get alot of looks cool nice hunting rig etc ......I got a roof rack on there lights all that jazz and get alot of '''''looks landcruiser like'''' ....lol.....So I guess it looks solid and tough enough for the folks around here ......TR
I get a lot of crap from different people about my '87 BII... but the truly sad thing is that I'm a 30-something year old married man that gets hit on by the teenaged girls .... even when I'm driving the 'beater' haha
Well the people who make fun of your truck, do what they say make fun of your truck...not you as a person. And wierd that girls hit on you when your driving a "beater", sence up here im pretty sure that if you pulled up in a bronco II it would own you no respect from anyone, and most likley turn them away even if you were a person chciks would like otherwise. But i dont need a girl who likes my car and not me, i guess owning one of these is a way to show that about a person lol
Now that i have been driving my "little beast" around town people are starting to look at as good looking truck and not a little beater truck, but i take great pride in my truck being the first one i bought with my own money. In fact i had some guy at a gas staion that was driving a lifted up full size Bronco that told me i had a "wicked nice truck" and then i turned up my stero system and the look on his face was the best thing in the world, given i have two 12" subs, two Pioneer 6x9s, and two 4 inchers in the doors, and a 300 watt amp, its VERY loud and i love it becasue its all hidden.
Yes! You know how people say that Corvettes or "compensator cars"? The Bronco II, then must be a reverse-compensator car!!
BTW
I like the big window in the back, gives it the same look as a $60k Range Rover

Yep, its pretty much unless there pseron who owns that corvette really has it to go fast cuase they like to speed, and whatever, or they already have a girlfriend or wife. You know there driving that around for female attendtion.
I gotta bronco II, becuase 1. Its old, is there any problem left not figured out with this bronco.....i think not, which is why FTE is a great sorce of info on this truck. ay if i owned a newer car, maybe all the problem i could expect to happen would not be as easy to find out.
2.Its cheap, both with gas, and insurence, Mine cost me 850 bucks, so the insurence is very going to be cheap. Also most problem this truck has are owner fixable, i love that too. You know how the i-pod shuffle is the poor mans i-pod???? The bronco II is the poor mans off-roading truck, except you dont need to be poor to enjoy it.
3. This truck has one of the easiest motor swaps ive seen for such a liter increase, the 4.0 tranny and engine bolt right in, like a direct swap. For 1.1 liter gain, and being able to just drop the other motor in, id say its a good deal.
No no chicks really dig my Bro. From the aluminum shim tape on my hood that spells out the name Bro, to the extremelly musty smell inside they cant get enough of it! Sometimes they come down just to take a ride in it...The only thing is I have to turn them down sometimes because Of the absurd gas prices these days but then again its a great way to get some nookey Lol..
My first bII had a 6" lift with 33 swampers. One night I got stuck coming out of a hole were I was pushing water over my hood. The only reason I got stuck was I let of the gas. My cousin had a 77 f150 With a 460 and 40" tires. he said he would go in the hole and pull me back through it. Seeing I made it to the other side. He went in and could not make it close enough to pull me out, so we he tired to bake up he got stuck. After that night the BII earned much respect.
See, some people dont get it. Off roading isnt a drag race, you dont need a 460 to go off roading, it actually somtimes too much power that gets ya stuck. If it was all about power, im pretty sure the suzuki samauri with its 1.6 liter, 65 hp motor wouldnt be able to go off roading.
If you ask me, unless you do have a huge truck (f250-bigger) the six cylinders are your best bet.
