Talking Whoa

Found some mirrors for the Bronco so my pal and I are going to the wreckers where they are located.

But first the Bronco is a little thirsty, into the Petro Canada we go pump sucks $70 dollars out of my wallet for a few drops of go go juice, I get back in the Truck and pull out of the gas station punch the gas pedal and I hear bang and the Bronco gets really loud. Crap I says I think I broke the exhaust somehow.

So I slowly take the Bronco around the corner and stop and get out I look underneath and there she is the collector flange is broken clean off at the pipe end, lucky for me I have a small piece of 18 gauge electrical wire to tie it off and even luckier I'm only just down the street from a friends place.
So I noisily slowly drive down #2 hwy to my friends house to get some better wire to hold up the exhaust pipe and to borrow a phone book to find an exhaust shop that can help me out because the fellow I normally use doesn't work on Saturdays, I refuse to use the Midas's and the other chain muffler shops based on past experiences. I look through the phone book and find a shop pretty close(gone out of business) well I guess I'll have to try someone a little further away, I called the next one on the list "GT" exhaust in Oshawa guy named Matt(that worried me LOL) but I figured what choice did I have. Anyhow when I called and spoke to the fellow named Matt he said he was sure he could help me out and to bring it over.

I decided because the Bronco was so loud I best take the back way to his shop on Taunton between Ritson and Wilson I got there and drove it in, he put it up on the hoist and had a look, he said he could fix it but the flange wasn't great I said how much to do both sides $120 great I said please do it he cut and repaired both sides with new pieces in about 1 hour while taking phone calls and walk ins and did a great job with what was left of the rusted flange.

Nice to know you can still find some great shop mechanics out there willing to help you out with out trying to give you the big sales pitch.

as if a $1.23/litre wasn't bad enough you blow the exhaust too. Exhaust work is a pain this time of year, much better off getting it done. Sounds like a bargain too.
I saved some money yesterday too. It will be hard to believe but get this,.... I went to Princess Auto and i didn't buy a thing! First time I went in there and left empty handed.

Why Frank, did you stop at the gas station first and have nothing left?

It sure sucks when it costs $60 to fill the Focus....
