Anybody ever been keyed before?
Sitting in Wally World on a busy Saturday waiting for wife doing a quick stop for a couple of items. While I was parked, across from me was a new Ford mustang black with a racing stripe. A girl between 25 to 30 walked up to the pony and took a key to the front fender and started working her way around the car. I called the local police as soon as she started. Could not believe how fast the cop was coming into the lot. I got out and waved him over. She was still busy talking to herself and carving away when the cop approached her. She just stood up and put her hands in the air, dropping the keys on the ground. They arrested her and the cop thanked me saying that the pony belonged to a local Army vet he new and had just broken up with the girl friend. I left at that point never saw the the vet.
Not been keyed but people have written crass notes in the dust of my bronco (mint), and when I found out who it was, I gave them a serious verbal public **** wooping. Given my temper I am glad that is as far as it went. Also had another person just kick the same bronco as they were crossing the street. It was my friend. I just don't get it, he knew full well how good of care I take of my rigs, and to do that is just beyond me.
It happened to me once, my beat to heck '71 Plymouth Valiant, painted baby-crap brown. I went to the local school dance in it, and when I came back with some friends to drive home, someone had keyed down both sides, front trim to tailfins (don't ask), in big block letters, "GOOD CAR". I didn't know if I was supposed to be enraged or if I was supposed to be pleased with it. Letters were about 3" wide, it must have taken some serious time to do it. I filled it in with gold metallic paint and kept it that way until I sold it. When I asked around and figured out who it was, I sneaked up behind him in town one day and gave him a blast of GM 4-note Caddi Horns. Two weeks later I found a set of bull horns duct taped to the hood.. man I miss that car.
I did once leave my camera rolling in the cab of my '96 F150 and overheard the local group of wannabe 'rednecks' planning to key my truck.. driving the one truck with actual paint must be offensive to them.. HAHAHA!
