Just got my superchips microtuner yesterday and installed 87 octane tune on my 97 F150 4.6 auto 180200miles. My check engine light came on after taking dad to work and got these codes.

The DTC code reader book from superchips lists the two codes. I went for a about 100mile drive no light at all, light came back on after I took my dad to work. I'm thinking the truck needs to be shut off for 7-8hrs. Could my K&N filter have anything to do with the codes being set? Or should I reinstall stock program and run the tank down and install one of the performance tunes? Pulled codes this morning and had two different codes.

Just sent an email to SperChips about the codes. One of the guys at work said it could possibly be that my upstream Ho2 sensors are the cause. I don't know if they have ever been replaced.
I put a Superchips 1714 (I think) on my 97 and it made the engine ping when set on either one of the performance tunes. I ran it for two weeks with several different gas grades then returned it and got all my money back after I showed the manager the fine print saying "30 day money back guarantee" So...if you are not happy return it soon.
