Some of the late 70's trucks had a security wing window that has a little button on it to lock it. Anyone know if you can convert the standard wing windows to this or do you have to replace the whole window unit. By the way, the old windows can be opened with a pocket knife from the outside by pushing up the little lever. The lock keeps it from poping up.
I gave some non-locking latches to a friend of mine to put on his 79 that originally latched. He said they wouldn't work because the little stud that is on the window is a different length. I have never confirmed this on my truck, but thats what I can tell you.

I can barely open mine from the inside, the proper way! I'm not sure why they're so tight, but there is no way that you could push that thing up with a pocketknife!

Nothing, and I mean nothing, stirs the soul, saying I'm a bad **** like lettin'em rip with a window shaking, fuel gulpin, carbon monoxide belchin, attention gettin, V-oh my LORD!-8!
If you take the latch off, you can CAREFULLY! grab the pin with some vise-grips and bend it towards the rear of the truck. It doesn't take much of a tweak to tighten up the latch. I did mine a couple years ago and it's still tight, no air leaks!
