Thumbs up Electronic ignition option

Some of you may have read my previous posts about the problems I had with the 83 F 150 I bought that had the Dura Spark II system. Well, I solved all of them today. I bought a points type distributor and put a Comp Cam XR-i electronic conversion in it. This is basically the same as a Pertronix unit. Switched the distributor and connected two wires and it started right up. I still have to get the timing right but it runs good. No more ignition module or associated parts to deal with. I have never done anything like this before and have limited mechanical knowledge. This was extremely simple and the directions were great. I know a lot of people that use these type units in their muscle car restorations because it looks original but gets the benefit of the electronic ignition. these are very reliable and the performance is good.

Thanks! I had some help from a friend. Like I said, there are still some timing issues but it's pretty close right now. What do you do in the AF? I've been in 22+ years.
