351c distributor upgrade

Hi, I have a 351c out of a 73 cougar, and it's points type ignition. I would like to buy a new distributor that is electronic, is there a specifc year range I should ask for, like should I tell the parts counter kid that I want a distributor for a 1977 with a 400 engine or something? I know some of you are going to say get a Pertronix, but I want to replace this 30 year old distributor anyway and it seems like it makes more financial sense to upgrade to electronic ignition at the same time.

I personally run the MSD dist but I am getting the impression that you don't want to go with an aftermarket dist so the 351c uses the same dist as the 351m/400, 429, and 460 so any of those with an electronic ignition will fit right in, just remember you will need an ignition box to go with it, so I would go to a wrecking yard, and find a vehicle with one of those engines, and electronic box, and take the whole thing so you can also get the wiring. otherwise I would buy a aftermarket dist, and box such as the msd and the 6a box.
