hey all, has anyone put a chip in the newer duratec 3.0 v6 and if so what kinda gains did you get. Ive got an 03 centennial edition tauras and i think its got like 200 horse stock, feels pretty good, but of course more is better
here ya go. Let me know after you d/l it so i can take the link down to save the guys banwidth who is hosting it for me. The camera is only focused on the gauges.
I shot it with a Sony Cypershot 7.2mp cam. It's made for taking pics but it also takes video pretty decently.
There were a lot of differences. Ever since i installed my CAI, my engine ran a tad more rough than before. The chip smoothed out the engine a lot. The shifting is smoother now. There is also quicker throttle response. I know this for a fact becase i can now spin a tire from a dead stop everytime. My truck doesnt make enough power to spin both unless the road is wet, then both light up. All that has to do with more power too. I did notice a nice little increase in power throughout the rpm range. I can't comment on the mpg because i drive drive for fuel economy
I got exaust, new intake and a chip. With the 3.0L, the chip made the most difference. One day, ill drop $3,500 on a whipple supercharger.
