2003 SCrew headlights

I have a 2003 SCrew and my headlights are only on when I turn them on with the switch. I have a friend who also has a 2003 SCrew but 4x4 and he is unable to turn off lights when truck is turned on. He has taken it to two dealerships and no one can figure it out yet.

I'm sure someone on here will have ideas.

Does he maybe have the daytime running lights option and you don't?

Thats what I was thinking but shouldn't there be a way to disable the running lights? Its just strange the dealerships don't know why its happening.

This is actually very easy. You need to find the resistor (See Location is Everything below) and disconnect it. It's that easy. And Yes... your low beam and high beams will still work with the resistor unplugged.

I added DRL's to my 02 F150. Two parts are needed that are omitted from U.S. purchased trucks. The resistor that is under the driver's fender area and the relay loopback plug that is located under passenger dash. Unplugging the resistor is all that is required to disable the daytime running lights. Good luck.
