Drive Shaft problems

93 5.8L with the E4OD automatic.

At 110xxx miles I had to replace it with a reman. shaft due to the "ball and cup" area between the 2 front U-joints. Then at 150xxx miles i lost the rear U-joint on the shaft, now at 156xxx miles I lost the whole shaft again with the "ball and cup" area between the front 2 joints.

What could be causeing me to wreck the shaft?

My Bronco is not lifted or modded in any way. The first shaft went out before i had the tranny rebuilt at 130xxx miles so i doubt it has anything to do with that.

Would a tore transmisson mount do somthing like this? I don't know what else could be causeing my problems.

Does your driveshaft still move in and out freely, if not(it's frozen in place), and when you hit a big enough bump, it doesn't lenthen to say conected and just pops off, but if that isn't the problem, then you could try upgrading to stronger u joints and at least those should break anymore.

did you put an identical shaft length as the first one or did you actually remeasure from the rear diff yoke to the back of the tcase yoke?

how do the bushings and rear springs/shocks look. are you doing burnouts or powerbraking at all?

I compared the shafts to each other before i replaced them and they looked like perfect copies.

I looked at the bushings and rear springs that all looks good. shocks i replaced about 15xxx miles ago with RS5000 ranchro's.

Was the shaft in question ever separated at the slip shaft for any reason and reassembled? I only ask because they are balanced with the front and rear sections assembled and if the slipshaft is separated and not clocked as it had been when the D/S was initially balanced the balance could be off. Personally, I think this is a longshot anyway since you would most likely have a vibration issue before this scenario would actually ruin the D/S. I just throw it out there as a possibility since there isn't much to substantiate the premature failure from what you have said.
