I have a stock exhaust on my '00 7.3, but I have no problem hearing that turbo spool up when I romp on it. Ahhhh music to my ears.

Long tube headers into twin flow 40's coming off of a modded 460 (no cats either) and the pipes dump out the side through 18 inch long 4 inch tips just behind the cab (no front tank). This truck is not street legal and is hauled from mud pit to mud pit but it is deffining when I stomp the skinny pedal.

On my daily driver 99 Silverado (5.3) I have a 18 inch magnaflow si/do with two 22 inch long three and half inch slash cut tips exiting at a 45 in front of the passenger side rear tire. Its not overly loud but sounds good and throaty when I stomp on it.

Umm bronco96, theres no way the turbo is 6 inch, around maybe but the exhaust outlet on our trucks is usually only 3 or 3 and a half for the stock turbos.... anyways i gotta 3-4 inch downpipe on my truck that runs into 5" pipe that turns out infront of the back tire, man does she sound sweet, and my dodge as 4 inch right after the turbo to 2 5 inch stacks.... that thing will roar when you want it too lol

I've got a 7.3L PSD (or, a 444 )..... straight piped. Pretty loud.... if it's real cold in the early morning, and I start it up, after a minute or so that EBPV closes and it shrieks SOOOO loud... you'd think there's a jet taking off somewhere.

On my Mustang, I used to have a loud-*** exhaust. Only had a 302, but with 2.5" duals running through 12" Dynomax Bullets and exiting out the side, you knew it was coming. Set off car alarms with pretty good regularity. It always made me smile when women would come up beside me and...roll their windows up so the didn't have to listen to the "racket"

Same here. I love pulling up next to people (who can't afford a/c on hot day) and watching them role up their windows because of my obnoxious engine OR kicking the tuner all the way up and choking our a rice rocket convertable with my black smoke.

I'm pretty happy with how loud my truck is. Its on an 85 F150 351W 4VHO. I have full length headers to 2 1/4 true dual and 18" Red hots, with a 3" turndown in front of my rear axle. I left them infront of the axle cuz I kept breaking my tailpipes off when mudding or driving over things. At first I thought it was pretty loud, and it was louder than most trucks around, but as time went on, I got used to it and I wanted it louder. Thats the good thing about glasspacks. They will eventually blow out. Right now I would guess its about 1/3 as loud as its going to end up getting. In the cab its not bad at all with the windows closed. Last time I had the seat out I put more insulation on the floor and in the back of the cab. If the doors or windows are open, it is pretty loud at idle. Kind of a reverberation.

I like it loud as long as it dosn't sound ricey.

on my 96, with both cats its just to quite the chery bomb adds a little rumble but not alot. i set it up witht he chery right after the second cat then a short pice of pipe and a turn down.

On the 85, i love it stock header and down pipe thats it. way loud though wouldnt want to drive it through town at night would likly get a moving noise violation for sure lol

i'm about ready to get my ehxuast done on my truck. i just put a set of headers on it and thats all im running right now but i have a set of 2.5" single chamber mufflers sitting in my room. im going to get 2.5" true dual ehxuast exiting infont of the rear wheels with the single chambers. its going to be loud to say the least.
