finally got around to doin some work on the 88. got the front spring hangers mounted halfway, pulled the cab, pulled the engine, gas tanks. got the 300 out of my donor truck, and got the frame of my truck all cleaned up. got the beautiful assistant April involved again heres the 300 6 thats goin in the peice of crap 302 that came out, nothing but a mustang engine ripped the cab off, made it easier to pull the engine looks little sittin down there i even got her to split the tranny for me got all 4 35s on now, i got to make up the rear shackles, and hook up the brakes, and the axles will be all done. hopefully ill drop the 300 in next weekend, and fix a hole or two in the cab floor, its comming along steady and slow.
Cab is easy. Well..getting it off nicely like that might not have been. Me and Rick (weldingfreak on the boards) literally picked up, tipped, and threw off the cab of his F250. The cab wasn't light though.
I wish I had a shop that big GEEZ. haha it makes life easy when you get the women to help huh? No fone calls from them asking when you are coming in and such.
pulling the cab was easy, i just blew the cab bolts, theres 4, and 2 front clips bolt. unhooked the steering column, 2 brake lines, and the radiator. there wasnt anywires, so that wasnt a problem. thats not the shop, just the warehouse, didnt feel like moving all the stuff in the shop. the pull the cab i just put a forklift on each side and lifted right up with it, then drove the trailer out from under it.
yeah pro, she said this summer when its warm out, so you got somthing to look forward to. got the front of the frame all stripped down, pulled all the brackets and holders, and hangers. gonna pull the tranny tomorow and scrape all the grease out and wash it down with some degreaser and the next warm day im gonna rattle can undercoat it up real good. im gonna ditch all the rabs, and run new lines front and rear, and new gas line since im going from fi to carb.
