My new Ididit column, hooked up to my Toyota box, emits a squeaking sound when turning, from around the area just below the steering wheel.
Any ideas? It's a tilt column, 2" diameter, with a new Grant steering wheel mounted on it. I can't think of anything, but is it possible to have something overtightened?
Thanks in advance. Sure, I'll start experimenting with it this weekend, but I figure I'd ax you all first.
Sneak one of those small red straws in there and give it a quick shot of silicone spray.
I know its a fairly common problem on the stock columns. Also check to make sure that the upper housing (that turns with the wheel) is not rubbing on the lower stationary housing.
