Replace audiophile stock sub?

Has any one tried replacing the stock sub and using the same box that comes with the system? I was thinking about doing it, I think is a 8" sub and the only thing I would have to worry about is the depth of the the sub. Also would I have to change any of the power setups...amp or wiring?
