As a former career councelor ( unless they changed the rules on me). You have to have 20 qualifying years service and not one day short. If the last 8 years prior to retirement are with the reserves then you retire as a reservist and draw pay at 60. Even if you are doing up to 180 days active (unless you enlist active duty) is considered reserve points. If your reserve unit will let you do this. Try to cram in 3 months of drills prior to leaving (helps the points and pay on the reserve side of the form) this would give you all the points you would miss while active. Do this in advance so it will be credited in the proper year if you are getting near your date of enlistment.

just that small boats like 65 feet and under. these are mostly smaller coast guard boats that can work in many areas . the ones where i was had 25 foot to 47 foot boats
