which frame do u think is best, highboy or standard frame. im going to swap my f150 body over to one of the 3/4 frames but which one, also is it hard to move plates on the axles, since the highboys are narrower. its a 77 frame
they are both good frames. You would have to drill new mounting holes to put any standard frame bodys on it. Its not too hard. Also i think the high boys have different rear leaves. something like 1 3/4" width leaves. Not too common if you are looking to lift it. Although any good leaf spring shop should be able to make you a custom set. May be a little more expensive than standard width leaf spring lifts. Just some things to consider. As far as the axle plates just grind the weld off along the tube and whack 'em with a hammer. Just make sure you keep them centered and even and have a good, competent person weld them back on.

things will be easier with the 78-79 250 frame, from axle widths, body mounts, gas tank options, steering, etc....
btw, all three of my highboys had 2 1/4" rear springs
i dont see what it would hurt, it is only about 3/8" per side of the spring eye. i take it you dont have the 3" wide springs for that frame......you will also need to address the u bolts and spring plate width issues
the highboy springs would probably have a little more height (more arch and more leaves) depending on what lift height you want, a rear shackle flip helps too.
the highboys i have owned have all had 4" blocks, they really are just a completely different chassis set up than the 77.5-79 f-250's (4x4's)
mine has 4 inch blocks 2.5 inch width on the rear springs 3 inch in the front my frame flexes really nice on rocks and such be carefull because th ehighboy frame is only 35 1/4'' wide and most gastanks will not fit in between the rails and if you do find one that will fit the rear axle will bump it when the springs flex i like the gastank in the cab myself.
