Headlight Adjustment
First post so please bear with me.
I have a 06 f250 CC XLT. It came with the auto on headlight switch. I live in East Texas and we get our fair share of rain. My problem is several times I have drove it in the rain, windshield wipers on full blast, barely can see the road and the headlights didn't come on on their own. They come on fine at night.
I guess my question is, is there anyway to adjust the sensor on the dash to make the headlights come on sooner. Also, in many states its a law that when the wipers are on your headlights should be on also. I would think Ford would have programmed that in the headlight switch somehow.
PS
I have 8,700 trouble free miles on my truck. So far so good
TIA.

No, there really isn't any method for adjusting the sensitivity of the sensor. It's not programming, but the physical components of the sensor themselves that determine its sensitivity. So, in short, your stuck reaching over and turning the headlight switch to on when you need the headlights and the sensor doesn't do it.

I usually just stick something over it (sensor on dash) when it is raining.
