Had issues with rain recently that kept turning my lights on so I had to unplug the headlight relays temporary that night. (Wet gem) got the gem and fuse panel dried out and leak repaired.
My DRL relay by the headlight is toast so have it unplugged temporary.
But yesterday the headlights that are controlled with the switch turned off randomly (lowbeams) while I was parked idling. Flip the light switch and they come back on. OR flip to highbeams and they work.
Tonight driving up our driveway I flipped the highbeams on then back to low and lost my lights, flipped back to high, they worked so then flipped the main switch off/on and lights came back, this happened twice. Tried to duplicate it again and couldnt..
Hitting the road in a few weeks for about 8k mile trip so hoping to solve this first.
I doubt its the DRL relay, although maybe I always had this issue if my DRL were always on, I wouldnt know right?
BUT other options could be a weak relay for the low beams or perhaps the main switch or the multiswitch (wiper one) in the steering wheel?
Never had this issue before the truck got wet....
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Check the actual plug and make sure theres no corrosion. If so clean it with a electronic safe cleaner. I know one of my turn signal lights would come on and off with bumps in the road, and I found that problem with mine.
