I don't see a choice that would not be great.

Ok so this page has been viewed 70+ times and only 9 votes...

Are we all checking it that often or are there that many people that don't care to vote?

Personally, I am waiting for 390gashog to enter in some sort of campaign writings. I have read WillyB's stuff and it was really impressive. I just wanted to give gashog a chance to match with his stuff. I think there is still time, isn't there?

If Gashog does write down his plans, I will post them on a page of the website just like mine, should he want me to. He may have his own location.

i wanted to let you all know i have not had a chance to compile a list of ideas. Sunday night one of my friends was killed by a drunk driver at 6:35 pm. I have taken it pretty hard and have not been on the forums a lot. I have been trying to keep my mind occupied by other things and the loss is great.this is the reason i did not join you guys sunday night. I am very sorry i could not join you sunday.

Mike,
My prayers are with you, your friend and your friend's family, to somehow find peace with this. Sorry to hear of your pain.
God bless, Tim

Hey Mike,
My condolences, to you.

Everyone,
I voted for mike as a chapter leader, only because I've had personal interaction with him. He's helped me & I've helped him. He really knows his FE's for sure. Today I looked over willyb's synopsis and I must say, he has a good vision as to what a leader should stand for. Either one of these two fine men should make a great chapter leader.
My participation would be intermittent. (single dad w/2 kids) but its a great idea. Let's get it going!

OK, it is Wens Night, so no new nominations will be accepted. I wish more members would vote - If they have been waiting around for someone better to step forward they should vote for one of us now.

I have been busy on chapter business (as has gashog) with the idea that whoever is elected the tasks will remain much the same. I worked the membership lists over and culled 440 names that list california as home and who have posted in the last two weeks. I am sending each a email or PM asking them to join us at the events, and to visit this forum.

Just to keep everyone up to date the text I am sending is:

[I]NorCal Chapter

Several of us are trying to revitalize the Northern California Chapter of FTE. We are currently planning meetings at the GoodGuys Get-Together in Pleasanton on March 26, and at the GoodGuys Drags in Bakersfield on March 11. In addition, there is a Chapter Leader election being held this week.

Please visit us at https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/f...splay.php?f=90

We value your input and wish to know any suggestions or ideas you may have regarding this chapter and how to make it viable.

We invite you to join us at either event, and to vote for the chapter leader.

Clint Wilcox[I]

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, and drives some traffic our way.

Well, it's Thursday and I don't see any more hats in the ring. Hopefully the letter will bring the other 28 or so to the polls.

Too bad it isn't a closer vote. Either candidate is a terrific choice.

You are absolutely correct Chet. Both are excellent choices. I had a definate lean in both directions at about equal times.
I think WillyB got the edge with his well written intentions. I struggled with the decision. I was really hoping Mike would post something of his ideas but I think he has some personal things to get through right now. I figured it might be better to let him off the hook, I dunno.

I kind of think a campaign period would have been better before starting the poll. I felt rushed to vote. I held off for a while. It would have been nice to have both testimonials to consider prior to voting, but with just the one it was left to speculation.

First, Mike can still post something if he wishes. Second, I agree that this is not the best way to select a leader - but I fear we are small in number and nothing we would have done would have helped this vote.

What we can do is make the term shorter - like for 6 months - and then have another election. That gives us time to build our numbers, and gives the new members a say in the administration of the chapter.

If we do this (shorten the term) we should do it now, before the results are in.

Or better, Mike, what do you think of a short term? If you agree, I will.
