Where to install Temperature Sensor for E04D?

Where to install Temperature Sensor for E04D?
Hi, I have a 97 E350 with an E04D transmission and I will be towing. I like to install a transmission temperature sensor. Has anyone install a sensor and if so, where did you install it on the transmission and what sensor did you purchase?

It is common to install the sending unit inline in the "sending" line...the line going to the cooler right when it comes out of the tranny. I have heard of other people with E40D's installing them elsewhere though. It seems like there was a spont on the transmission itself. See if you can't find it by searching the archives.
And yes, Autometer does make good gauges. I have more than enough of theirs in my '53...I have 8 of their gauges to be exact.
