Thumbs up towing capacity

Looking to buy a 1990 f150 with an inline 6 and was wondering about towing capacity. I'll be towing a landscape trailer with mowing equipment. If I had to guess the total would be around 2000lbs to be towed.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Don

2000 lbs would be easy for it to tow, I've towed 6000 lbs with my old carbed 300.

Talking

Glad to here that it can handle the towing. I've read nothing but good things about this engine and it appears they are bullet proof.

Thanks for the welcome,
Don

I have pulled 4 tons and had 1 ton in the bed for 200 miles! It was over some very steep and long grades and I went down to 15 MPH on the hills but the flats were 70 MPH without a problem! I never stoped pulling!

my buddy and i pulled three wrecked cars on a car trailer (they were flat, stacked one on top of the other two...), we hauled them out of the woods after pulling down several trees to get to the cars (cleaning up the hunting property). we took it easy on the way home cause the front tires barely touched, but we never lacked the torque to get going...
