hI, THIS IS MY FIRST POSTING AND I NEED TO FIND OUT HOW TO REMOVE THE ARMRESTS FROM MY BUCKET SEATS TO PUT SEAT COVERS ON. i HAVE A FORD F250 SUPERDUTY 2001 AND HAVE TRIED PUSHING IN AND TURNING BUT IT HAS A ROD STOPPING IT FROM TURNING SO ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS.
I have done this on all my seats in my 97 E-150 to lube the arm rest hinge pins. You have to push extremely hard inward on the armrest in the 12 o'clock position, swing it back 90 degrees, and wiggle it to get it out. The first one was so hard to do, I had to remove the seat, lay it sideways to push in on it, and took a bit of doing to finally get it out. That has been my experience. I had to contact the people that built the conversion van to get the information to do this. Hope that helps.
My last truck had armrests that were removed that way and i tried pushing and twisting backwards the same as how i did it when i worked at truck and van customizing shop and no luck so i looked and saw it had a different kind of mounting system than i was familiar with so a friend of mine is going to see how to do it where he works and he thinks with this kind you have to put it in the upright position then remove a clip or pin to slide it off. Thanks so much for replying and i will post how my friend says to get it off, if he can find out, ha ha. Thanks again.
Hey I figured out how to remove the armrests and all I had to do was pull back the armrest cover and use a star bit maybe a T-45 to remove the arms so hope this helps anyone else who has the same kind of armrests I had. Thanks again.
