I have the center console with the armrest that swings up. Plastic part of the hinge broke. I bought a new hinge, but I am at a loss as to how to remove the old hinge from the armrest itself. Has anyone replaced one of these hinges before? Thanks.
Its been awhile since I took my ole busted hinge off. There are 6 or so screws that hold the outer shell to the inner base. Some are in the box and change holder area. That should lift up and you'll see 4 screws or bolts that hold the hinge in place.
So the hinges are still avliable!! Whats the part# and were you found them.

I bought it at LMC. Don't have the part number handy. I see how the hinge bolts to the console, but can't figure out how it attaches to the armrest itself. I don't want to destroy the armrest part. Thanks
I think Eddie is speaking of the console lid hinge.
THISAND THIS is the hinge replacement, used to could find them anywhere, more rare now. I have had quite a few B II's and replaced one back years ago. You have to cut the pin from the old one. I used a cut-off wheel on a die grinder. The new one will pop back into place when pressed hard enough. I don't find the instructions online anywhere to do this though. Did the new one you purchased not come with any instructions? I know it said to use a hammer and piece of wood to re-seat the new pin. That replacement part fits all Bronco II and Gen 1 Explorer arm rests. The photo is actually from my broken rest from my 2002 Sport trac. All of these rests attach to the console mounting bracket the same....exactly.
