Extra key
Is this a dealership item to get a extra key made for my Expy? When I purchased it they only had 1 key available. I know where to find the key remotes off ebay but they dont list the actual key itself.

If you have only one key, you have to go to the dealer to get a second made. They charge around $60-70 to cut the key and program it. Buy the remotes off Ebay for about $10, and follow the directions in your manual to reprogram all of them. If you have two keys, you can program a third yourself after you get it cut, but only if you already have two that work already!

You didn't say what year expy, but if you have a 97 or early 98, you can program a new key even if you only have 1 working key. I bought some keys for my 98 off ebay, had them cut at a locksmith for a couple bucks, and programmed them myself with the one working key that I had. If you do a search you'll find the programming procedure (lots of turning the ignition on/off kind of stuff).

Check with your locksmith, as many are able to program your new key just like the dealership, for at least half the price.
I just had a second key for my 03 F150 programmed and cut by a locksmith for $45. I bought the key on Ebay for $10.
